Heritage Accommodation at The Rising Sun
Stay in the heart of Auburn in the Clare Valley at The Rising Sun Hotel, where ten newly renovated rooms combine the character of our historic pub and mews buildings with modern comfort.
The Rising Sun has welcomed travellers since 1851. Choose from six Heritage Rooms inside the historic main pub, three Mews Rooms with private exterior entrances, or the larger Mews Suite. Every room includes a private ensuite, air conditioning, Smart TV, minibar, free Wi-Fi, and tea and coffee making facilities.
Heritage Rooms
Located inside the historic main pub, our newly renovated Heritage Rooms retain their original character while offering a comfortable stay with modern amenities.
Five Heritage Rooms feature a queen bed, while one is configured with two king single beds that can be combined into one king bed by prior request.
Each Heritage Room includes:

• Tea and coffee making facilities
Mews Rooms
Set apart from the main pub in the historic 1850s mews building, our three newly renovated Mews Rooms offer a little more separation from the activity of the hotel and each has its own private exterior entrance.
Each Mews Room features a queen bed and private ensuite with shower, combining the character of the original mews building with a comfortable, contemporary fit-out.

As the original mews building includes stairs to access both the rooms and bathrooms, the Mews Rooms may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.
Mews Suite
Our largest room, the newly renovated Mews Suite is located in the historic mews building and has its own private exterior entrance.
The suite features a four-poster king bed, along with a sofa bed suitable for a third guest. An indoor sitting area with fireplace provides additional space to relax, while outside there is a private sitting area of its own. The ensuite features a double shower.

STAY IN AUBURN AND EXPLORE THE CLARE VALLEY
Located on Auburn’s main street at the southern end of the Clare Valley, The Rising Sun is well placed for exploring the region’s wineries, cellar doors, restaurants, walking and cycling trails, and nearby towns.
Spend the day visiting Clare Valley wineries, exploring the Riesling Trail or discovering Auburn, Watervale and Clare, before returning to the hotel for dinner or a drink at the pub.
With accommodation, dining and the bar all under one roof, The Rising Sun makes a convenient base for a stay in Auburn and the wider Clare Valley.

What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 3:00 pm and check-out is by 10:00 am.
Is parking available?
Yes. Limited on-site parking is available for hotel guests, subject to availability.
Ample free on-street parking is also available nearby along St Vincent Street and Main North Road.
Is the accommodation wheelchair accessible?
Our accommodation is located within heritage buildings dating from the 1850s and is not wheelchair accessible. Steps and changes in floor level mean some rooms may also not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.
If you have accessibility requirements, please contact us before booking so we can advise which rooms may be most suitable.
Do all rooms have private bathrooms?
Yes. All rooms have a private ensuite with shower. The Mews Suite features a larger ensuite with double shower.
Is Wi-Fi included?
Yes. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in all guest rooms and hotel areas.
Do the rooms have minibars?
Is dining available at the hotel?
Yes. The Rising Sun serves lunch and dinner every day, except Christmas Day. Guests are welcome to dine in the hotel during their stay, and bookings are recommended.
Are pets allowed?
Unfortunately, our accommodation is not suitable for pets, and they are not permitted in our guest rooms or accommodation areas.
