Set in the heart of Auburn at the southern end of the Clare Valley, The Rising Sun offers a character-filled setting for weddings centred around good food, local wine and warm hospitality.
The Stables & Stables Green
The Stables offers a relaxed indoor and outdoor setting for wedding receptions, with direct flow onto the verandah and surrounding garden.
It can accommodate up to 80 guests for a seated celebration or up to 120 guests cocktail-style. For larger weddings, The Stables Green provides space for celebrations of up to 150 guests, with marquee options available for larger seated events.
Together, the spaces allow the celebration to move naturally between drinks outside, dinner, speeches and the evening.
Food, Wine & Country Hospitality
Food is at the heart of weddings at The Rising Sun, with menus designed for generous, relaxed celebrations.
Choose from a seated shared feast or a roaming cocktail menu, with seasonal dishes and options to add grazing, late-night snacks, dessert and other extras. Menus change with seasonality and availability, allowing the food to reflect the time of year and the style of your celebration.
Beverage packages feature Clare Valley wines alongside beer, soft drinks and non-alcoholic options, with cocktails and other additions available. Skillogalee wines also feature across selected packages, bringing another local connection to the day.

Our wedding packages are designed to keep planning straightforward while allowing room to personalise your day.
Options include seated shared-feast celebrations and cocktail-style weddings, with beverage packages and a range of additions available depending on the format you choose.
Weddings also include exclusive use of The Stables and Stables Green for the celebration, service and bar staff, on-the-day support, a planning session with our team, and furniture, crockery and glassware for events within the standard venue capacity. Larger celebrations can also be accommodated with additional infrastructure and planning.
A Mews room for the couple on their wedding night is also included.
Stay at The Rising Sun
With ten newly refurbished rooms at The Rising Sun, your closest family and friends can stay right where the celebration takes place.
Our Heritage Rooms are located within the historic main pub, while the Mews offers additional accommodation on site. Together, they can accommodate up to 20 guests.
For larger groups, additional accommodation is available at our sister property, Skillogalee Estate, approximately 15 minutes away in the Clare Valley.
Having accommodation nearby makes it easier to turn the wedding into a full weekend, with more time together before and after the celebration.
Make a Weekend of It
A wedding at The Rising Sun does not need to begin and end with the reception.
Bring everyone together for dinner at the pub before the wedding, arrange a relaxed recovery brunch the following morning, or spend time exploring Auburn and the Clare Valley with your guests.
Skillogalee Estate is also nearby for wine tasting, dining and additional accommodation, making it easy to build a broader Clare Valley weekend around the celebration. Pre-wedding dining and post-wedding brunches can also be arranged.
